Community FM, February 2004, Manchester Radisson Airport Hotel "Towards a Toolkit for Community Radio"

This two-day conference that kick-started many community radio groups into action. The event featured some intensive and inspirational workshops. Other highlights included two views of global community radio presented by Zane Ibrahim of South Africa and Craig Liddell discussing Australia's Bush radio. Other speakers included Ivan Lewis MP, Minister for Lifelong Learning, Soo Williams of OFCOM, and Professor Anthony Everrit, evaluator of the Access Radio Pilot Scheme for the Radio Authority.

The Radio Authority’s Evaluator of the ‘Access Radio’ Pilot Scheme, Prof Anthony Everritt, who will describe his journey from cynic to champion as he explored the world of community radio. This session provides a very clear picture of what CR can do for every community.
